  • 1. The Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 (Act 12 of 1955)

    The Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), under which the College of Applied Sciences operates, is registered under this Act.This Act governs the formation, functioning, and legal compliance of charitable and educational societies in Kerala.

    2. THE CALICUT UNIVERSITY ACT, 1975

    The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut and follows the statutes and regulations outlined in this Act.It governs academic and administrative functions, including course structures, examinations, and quality assurance.

    3. University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956

    The college adheres to the guidelines set by the UGC, ensuring compliance with standards for higher education institutions in India.This includes adherence to the UGC's quality parameters, accreditation requirements, and funding norms.

    4. The Right to Education Act, 2009

    While primarily aimed at elementary education, its principles of equitable access influence policies at higher education institutions, ensuring inclusivity and affordability.

    5. Kerala State Higher Education Council Act, 2007

    Provides a framework for academic reforms, quality enhancement, and policy planning at higher education institutions.        The college aligns with the council's initiatives for curriculum development and capacity building.

    6. Reservation Policies and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989

    The college ensures compliance with reservation policies for admission and employment as per the Government of Kerala's guidelines.  Anti-Discrimination measures are implemented under this Act to create an inclusive environment.

    7. Information Technology Act, 2000.

    This Act regulates the use of IT infrastructure, including data protection and cybersecurity, ensuring ethical practices in teaching and research.

    8. The Apprentices Act, 1961 (as amended)

    Facilitates internship and training programs for students in collaboration with industries.Ensures structured learning opportunities as part of the academic curriculum.

    9. Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959

    The Career and Placement Cell complies with this Act for job notifications and collaborations with industries for employment.
